I have been trying to teach my grandson how to cast. When I took him to the Wyoming Expo in 2018, they taught him how to accurately cast a pole using the "Backyard Bass Starter Set". I was really impressed on how fast he learned. To keep his interest up in fishing, I purchased my own set for him and he practices every time he comes to my house.
Great product I am a chief instructor for the Vermont Fish and Wildlife and use this product to teach kids how to cast. I write the type, size weight and a location on the bottom of the fish so the kids can learn how to use the law book. Lots of fun
I learned about this product at a Leadership meeting for NJ Fish and Wildlife Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs program. This impressed me so much that I needed to buy a set for my group. I am getting to use it this year at the 4H fair in our county. Quality plastic - durable and a great invention.
Looks great - it exactly as i thought it would be, but haven't tried it as of this time.
This is such a great way to have easy fun while developing the kids angling skills.
Back Yard Bass is a fantastic teaching aid. It is a fun, educational tool. We use it to teach Cubs and Scouts to fish. The kids love the game, learning to cast while playing. Parents can help their younger kids which makes it a fun family activity for Cubs. Our Scouts, age 11 and above, pick up the skills immediately. We also use it to train adults where the games can get quite competitive.
Grandkids loving it
Used as a fun game for children at our family oriented Lions Club Fishing Derby.
We ordered two sets so we could give all three of our nieces two fish and two plugs. They have recently really found a love for fishing and want to improve their casts and this is a fun way to do it and they can make it a game or even get competitive. They arrived so fast we were stunned and couldn't be more impressed. Thank you so much!
Our Cub Scout Pack is having a “Hooked On Scouting” themed Join Scouting Night. We got this as a game the potential Scouts can play with indoors. We will tape pictures of local fish with facts about them.
